I've been working on lots of new crochet items for the store. It's been tough coming up with new ideas and finding time to create them, but I'm really pleased with what I have at the minute.

What I'm Working On...

 Greetings, People of the InterWebs!

My shop is going well so far... urr, as well as it can with only one thing in it! Hahaha! I've been brainstorming what to make next, but I've been short on new ideas. 

What I'm currently working on, or planning to work on next:

• Crocheted strawberry bag
• Tarot/ rune bags (also crocheted)
• Earrings (probably clay)
• Trinket trays/dishes

And that's all for now! I will post projects as they are completed. Hopefully, something will stand out as being a worthy addition to my very barren store!

New Item Available!

Hello All!

As promised, I've created something new to put on my store! While it's probably hard to tell at first glance, these lil' cuties are chopstick rests. For my fellow otakus and weebs, you may have noticed that chopstick rests can be hard to come by! Some of the things I've used in the past to hold my chopsticks are folded over napkins, the paper package the chopsticks came in, the edge of my plate, or nothing at all! 

As I've been using chopsticks more and more often (because I've been cooking a lot more), it finally became time to upgrade... I decided I would make something super kawaii~ to hold my chopsticks. No more table-rolling or weird balancing on paper! 

When I looked down at the adorable Soot Sprite who bravely held onto my chopsticks, I knew I had to share them with the rest of the world! The Time Has Come!

 I know, I know...

I've once again left my blog unattended, desolate and lonely. As the months turned into years (seriously, YEARS?!), I remembered my dreams... I wanted to create fun things and share them with others. Now, I've finally toughened up and got the nerve to rebuild my store and online presence. 

The time has come; I'm ready to re-vamp my blog. Thank you for waiting for me, World! Let's get this show on the road.

I've been SUFFERING from art block, so don't expect any new art pieces for a while.

Ink

It was just past dusk when I came upon the water's edge. 

I remember pulling back the gnarly, unkempt roses and twisting ivy before stepping into a tangle of brush. It was dry and felt weightless when I pushed that away as well.

The lake came into view very suddenly. Framed in gold and dying purple hues, it seemed otherworldly. 

It was overwhelmingly beautiful, yet somehow unsettling. 

I immediately noticed something was strange about the place: the water was dark; an inky black that I originally assumed was from the time of day. Now, though, I'm quite sure the water was always as black and oily as a raven's feathers. 

I took the weight of my camera off of my neck and chest and raised it to take some preliminary shots of the lake. I snapped only three or four photos before the light dipped away. It became dark very quickly, and I felt the tingle of fear creep up my spine. 

At the same time, though, I was washed over with a sense of calmness. The lake was so tranquil, undisturbed from the swaying cattails or drifting lily pads. 

By my leg, I noticed a soft purple flower floating by. It stopped in front of me and I couldn't help capturing the plant's beauty within my camera's lens. 

When I looked back up again, I was taken away by the lack of light. The photos I had taken of the flower were bright and nearly everything around the water was still bathing in soft light. The water, though, seemed to draw in any ray of light it could. 

Except, there was something glowing in the center of the lake...

The soft glow became an intense flash. I shielded my eyes and, when I could see the black backs of my eyelids instead of glaring reds and pinks, I opened my eyes.

Breathless, I saw a flurry of pure white stars, twinkling like crystals and snow. They were shining freely in the black sky, and reflecting back into the inky water.

Then, I saw it... or maybe, her.

In the very center of the lake, a creature's head was peeking out. As the creature's head rose higher and higher from the water, I saw it's feminine features. Her ears were pointed and she had horns! 

A demon!?

What I had perceived as horns soon transformed into antlers, and bright flowers rested gently on top of her hair. She smiled softly, like she knew how captivated I was, and her eyes shone with a certain brightness, as if she could whisper all the secrets of the universe to me.

I held my camera up slowly, and her grin grew. She was inviting me, so I took the shot. As the shutter closed, I saw the light flash once again. This time, when I cracked my eyes open, I was no longer on the shore of an expansiveness black lake. Instead, I was sitting at my desk.

My journal was open. I had no recollection of writing the date, or signing my name at the bottom. When I picked it up, though, a photo fell to the floor.

There, in all of her simple impish beauty, was the Spirit of the Lake.

Fetch Me My Smock!

Here's a little painting I did!

This piece is of The Star (Card Number 17). I used my own Tarot deck as inspiration and tried to capture some of the symbolism and majesty of the card. 

I'm quite happy with it overall, though there are many things that I wish I had done differently. I definitely consider myself a beginner, which means I have a lot of room to improve!

Unfortunately, I attempted to varnish this too early, and the colors got smudged. I was really bummed about it...

I have another piece in progress and I won't make the same mistake! 

Oh! One other thing: this canvas is 4 by 6 inches (which is roughly 10 by 15 cm). It's a little small, but I love lil' cute things!

Found myself a new craft: resin.

It's so much fun. I bought a few molds, bezels, a UV flashlight, and some other items.

I also got some glitter!

(So much glitter...)

Made My First Instructable

So, hey. Real talk.

I've always wanted to make DIY videos, but I kind of suck at filming. I used to make videos when I was younger, but they were... atrocious. Just terrible.

Instructables, though...They're cool. I can use my writing abilities and photo-taking skills to make DIYs.

That's pretty rad.
